weather forecast. i have on the winter coat and gloves. we have a freeze warning in effect. bring the potted plants in, spend a little time chipping the ice off the windshield. we're looking at sunshine coming up over the horizon. wind light, but cold. here come the numbers, look at the suburbs, 27 degrees in allentown. 29 in reading. 31 in trenton. we have slipped below the freezing mark in wilmington, as well. 28 in millville. at the airport in atlantic city. a lot of area dealing with sub freezing temperatures. 8:00 a.m. in philadelphia we'll be at 34 a lot of suburbs below freezing. by noon we're up to 48 and 3:00 p.m., 53, a high today of 53 around 4:00. it will be a similar afternoon high from what we experienced yesterday, but obviously a cold start. a lot milder tomorrow afternoon.

that story held in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. karen, what about the roads. i'm checking out the schuylkill expressway we have a disabled truck that was blocking the lane on the schuylkill expressway eastbound near university. it has cleared. this is westbound volume buildings here. we can see traffic moving okay. we noticed a jam on i-95 southbound traffic slowing at cottman. overall just some building volume from yardley and bensalem you'll be dealing with that. only a 14 minute ride from the woodhaven to the vine. we have an accident in montgomery county skippack pike near white hall road watch for that. the a vehicle went off the roadway, we have emergency workers off to the side. this is by the shore on the garden state parkway southbound past 539. watch for that accident. live on the ben franklin bridge westbound traffic coming into the city moving okay. you want to watch and give yourself extra time and scrape off the windshield and warm up the car, it is cold out there. >> yes it is, karen rogers i

their three crowning children. investigators do not know what caused the crash. police say the pastor of a detroit church shot and killed a man who tried to attack him during a service. the man walked into the church on sunday morning with a brick and threatened the passenger. that's when the pastor pulled out a gun and hit the man. the pastor was taken into custody for questioning. police believe these two men are responsible for stabbing a u.s. airmen sponsor ton who was stabbed earlier this month outside a bar in sacramento. he has been released from the hospital. stone gained fame this summer as one of three american men who stopped a terrorist attack on a train in france back in august. >> the eagles face the rival giants and eli manning is probably having nightmares over what happened last time. >> take a look we're dressing the kids in all the winter gear.

>> new information is coming out about what was thought to be a shark attack in hawaii. it turns out was not a shark, an eel bit a man in the water. they do have teeth. other swimmers helped bring him to the shoreline. he is in the hospital with serious injuries to his legs.

be too bad. today as you walk out the door you'll feel a little jolt because your body is not used to the type of temperature yet. 69th street we've been talking to people who have been scurrying to their buses. they have their hats on and hoods up. they are trying to get inside where it's warm. they are not ready for winter just yet. these winter temperatures. 20s and 30s depending on where you are. 18th and walnut last night. people piled on their layers, it's fall you expect to feel the days that are crisp, but this is unseasonable. a little taste of what's soon to come when winters arrives. at 69th street station most people we spoke to are not exactly giving these items a warm welcome. the temperatures started to dip over the weekend. yesterday in some spots people saw some flurries. that was an alarming sight. you know that winter is

>> the community is coming together to help a homeless couple whose son was wandering losh park over the weekend. chosen 300 is working to raise $12,000 for the couple. their kids are in foster care after their 2-year-old son was found alone in the park late at night. the couple said shelters didn't have any room for them so they slept under a building in the park. the group raised $63,500 bringing hope to the struggling -- $6,500. bringing hope to the struggling family. >> it makes my heart warm inside. >> the money will go to the landlord to help the family with rent it will cover the cost of social services to help them become self-sufficient. if you would like to donate go to >> more evidence there there ad people particularly around here. >> reporter: storm tracker 6 live double scan shows you that we have dry conditions at least.

as we take a look outside, the sun is coming up nice and bright in a little bit. you can see the evidence of that over on the eastern horizon, not much cloud cover, but cold conditions in place. 36 degrees currently is the temperature. dewpoint is nice and low, so it's dry air. the wind is not all that strong. north, northwest at 6 miles per hour. it's cold, but not that windy. lots of sun on the way. high pressure will keep the winds down as we move through the afternoon, but it will be a chilly afternoon as we go past the lunch hour. 44 degrees by 11:00. we'll spend the afternoon in the low to mid 50s, high of 54 not hitting until 4:00 p.m. very similar to yesterday. expect more of the same today. high temperatures not ranging very much. 53 in allentown.
